$1,000 Gel II Nail Art Contest

La Palm Products is promoting their Gel II color gel-polish with a nail art contest worth more than $1,750 in cash and product prizes. Gel II is a two-step gel-polish system formulated with a base coat inside each gel-polish bottle, which eliminates the need for a base coat layer. It applies onto the natural nail as two gel color coats with a 30-second LED cure in between followed by a top coat and final 30-second cure, creating a durable, thin wear.

La Palm owner Michael Le showed us 52 colors at Premiere Orlando last June. Now the company has more than double the amount with 111 Gel II colors.

For their Gell II contest, the rules are simple — be as creative as possible using as many Gell II colors as you’d like. The most creative design, as judged by the La Palm Products team, will win the grand prize!

To enter, e-mail a high-resolution, clear photo of your design, along with your full name, mailing address, and phone number, to contests@lapalmproduct.com. You must also include the names of the Gel II colors you used in your entry.

The prizes:
  • Grand prize: $1,000, plus 10 Gel II colors, one top coat, and a UV lamp
  • 1st runner-up: $250 cash, plus 5 Gel II colors, one top coat, and a UV lamp
  • 2nd runner-up: $100 cash

The deadline to submit an entry is December 15, 2012. You have two and a half months to come up with something spectacular!

For more information on LaPalm’s Gel II gel-polish, you can visit their newly redesigned website, www.geltwo.com. The new site has a “Try On Colors” tab, videos on the application and removal process, and links to distributors and to purchase the company’s products.

Hi Julie, I hope you received my e-mail. In case you didn't, I believe it is legitimate in this case. Sponsors of contests are required by law to report prizes awarded to U.S. residents to the IRS for prizes valued at $600 or above, but for tax purposes they may also choose to report prizes of lower values. However, if you feel hesitant about e-mailing someone your social security number (I definitely would be), you can give them a call. This way, you can make sure it's legit as well as tell the main contact person your number over the phone so it's not floating around in an e-mail.
