Natural Nail Repair Video Using Fiberglass

Natural nail techs are on the rise as is their income with all the great nail options out there these days.  One of the things I find that some natural nail techs struggle with are nail repairs. How do you fix a crack or split if you don’t offer an enhancement of any sort? Recently a fan on Facebook suggested fiberglass as a repair option. I have been using it with much success actually incorporated into my Shellac service. I know there are other options out there, so whatever you use give it a try. This seemed easiest to explain in a video as the photo step-by-steps left some questions. I have used Backscratcher’s self-adhesive pre-cut fiberglass, Shellac base coat, 1 coat of Iced Cappuccino, 1 coat of Romantique, 2 coats of Shellac top coat, and a Kanga file.

I hope this helps give you some options in your servicing, let me know how it works for you!

This was very interesting. If all the nails need strengthening, I'm assuming that this a really great way to keep the nails a little longer. I've found that just gel polishes don't give much strength once it's grown a bit from the tip of the finger. I think I'm going to try this because the wearability of the polish along with the fiberglass would be awesome. Thanks for this video.

Hi, Holy.
I have a question; can CND-Shellac clear gel be polish with regular nail polish.

Thanks for reading my comment.

Sofia,
The Shellac is not made to be used with regular nail polish, the results would not be as fab! The regular nail polish would not have enough time to dry so you would be trapping wet polish in which leads to peeling or chipping.

Hi, I'm a natural nail tech and qualified in shellac. Like you say, one of the things I find that myself and other natural nail techs struggle with are nail repairs. How do you fix a crack or split if you don’t offer an enhancement of any sort. Have researched and watched videos on figernail fixers on how to do nail repairs using fiberglass. I'm not qualified in this - so do I need to do further training or can I just follow instuctions on video and product instruction. This would be helpful if I had a client with a split nail?
Also some websites recommend silk wraps and others recommend fiberglass - what do you think is best or are both an option?

Hi, I am wondering if its true that Shellac will peel or come easy when a woman is pregnant? I was told that it will? I would like to give advice to a pregnant client of mine and any future ladys...

Where do I find this fiberglass to use of my split nail. My nail is split both vertically and then got caught and ripped vertically. Would really appreciate knowing where to purchase these products. My doc said the best place to get an infection is a nail salon and really discouraged me from asking their help. I have looked and looked and have not seen anything that says fiberglass for fingernails. Would really appreciate any help you can give me. I am in very South Jersey. Many thanks.
