Cosmoprof 2009
Last month at Cosmoprof North America in Las Vegas I saw some great new products that were either newly launched or are in the pipeline and will be available shortly. I thought I’d share some of them. Feel free to leave me a comment in Feedback about which ones interest you the most.

Premiere Orlando 2009
Earlier this month, I went to the Premiere Orlando International Beauty Event; this is the first time I’ve attended this show, and I felt an energy and excitement there that I haven’t felt at any of the other beauty shows I’ve been to. I’m sharing some of my pictures here.

ISSE Show Coverage: Part 2
There was a cool assortment of happenings — from new products to live demonstrations to plenty of friendly nail techs — at the ISSE (International Salon & Spa Expo) in Long Beach over Jan. 31 to Feb. 2. Here are some of the interesting things I saw.
NailTek master educators Jan White, Saverne Smith, and Marianne Hunter chatted with me about the industry.

Cosmoprof North America
Cosmoprof North America, held at the Mandalay Bay convention center in Las Vegas, effectively ended tradeshow season for the NAILS team. It was a whirlwind season; two of the Vegas shows (IBS Las Vegas and Cosmoprof) were almost back-to-back in Sin City. Check out my pictures from Cosmoprof, and don’t forget to check your October issue of NAILS for even more great memories from show season.

More Fantasy Nail Art
I took snapshots of some great fantasy nail art during an IBS Las Vegas competition. The theme was “Las Vegas shows.” Which one is your favorite? Let me know in Feedback.

IBS Las Vegas
Here’s a quick photo round-up of my experience at IBS Las Vegas (formerly the Las Vegas Hair & Nails show). How was your experience at the show? Leave me a note in Feedback. Check the September issue of NAILS Magazine for more coverage of this show and of Premiere Orlando.

What’s in a Name?
As I was reading a New York Times profile about Essie Weingarten, founder of Essie Cosmetics, I couldn’t help but relate as it talked about the cleverness (and some minor controversy) of Essie polish names.
Check Out These Fantasy Nail Art Designs
The National Cosmetology Association hosted Hairworld Chicago at America’s Beauty Show. In addition to the numerous hair competitions at the show, there were also some really inspiring nail competitions. I got on the competition floor for the Fantasy Nail Art competition and snapped these photos.
America’s Beauty Show
I had a great time at America’s Beauty Show (formerly the Chicago Midwest Beauty Show) earlier this month. For the first time, the show took place in McCormick Place, a gigantic convention center in the heart of Chicago (in previous years, it had been held in the suburb of Rosemont, Ill.)
