My Little (Nail) Pony

While this is not really nail-related, per se, I thought it was a pretty cool thing. I got an e-mail from celebrity nail tech Tom Bachik yesterday with a link to this website. It’s the 25th anniversary of the childhood favorite My Little Pony. To celebrate, Hasbro sponsored the “My Little Pony Project: 25 Ponies for 25 Years” program. A number of artists, celebrities, and designers were given 18” My Little Pony figures and asked to create a one-of-a-kind My Little Pony.

So what does this have to do with nails and with Tom Bachik? Well, one of his famous clients is singer LeAnn Rimes and she was asked to design a pony. And who did she get to help her? Well her most creative nail technician of course. So LeAnn gave Tom her artistic vision and together they came up with her version of My Little Pony.

These one-of-a-kind creations will be available for auction starting September 18 at CharityFolks.com. A portion of the proceeds will go to Give Kids The World Village, a non-profit that strives to provide magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses.

I’m posting before and after pictures of LeAnn and Tom’s My Little Pony. Pretty cool for a nail tech, right?
