Olympic Nails

With the Olympics in full swing, I was curious if there was any nail news going on in Beijing.

A quick Google search brought up some great photos.

Chinese nail artist Jin Yu, made this Olympic-themed painting entirely from nail tips back in January 2007. She used more than 28,000 tips to complete the painting, which is 12’ long and 10’ wide.

Here, an Olympic fan shows off her nail art renditions of Fuwa, the official mascot of the Beijing Olympics. This photo was taken at a nail salon in the city of Wuxi in Eastern China’s Jiangsu province.

And Australian swimmer Stephanie Rice may be on to a new trend with her black polished nails. Stephanie set a new world record at the women’s 400m individual medley, with a time of 4 min 29.45 sec, beating the old record by a full 1.67 seconds — and she did it all while wearing the stylish black polish.
