(Re)introducing Karyn and Candice

We'd like to welcome two new bloggers to Blueprint of a First Year. Don't worry — Alica and Melodie will continue to blog at least until their year ends in September, but we want to bring on board a few more new salon bloggers to give a different perspective.

The first is Karyn Lenhart. If you're scratching your head and wondering why you've heard her name before, it's because she's transitioning over from NAILS' Nails 101: A Student Blog. Karyn has been working full time as a massage therapist and esthetician  for the last 7 1/2 years. She decided to go back to school and get her manicuring license because she no longer had a reliable and well-educated nail tech to refer her clients to. In December, she moved out of the salon where had been working due to professional conflicts with the owner. She moved into a private office in Roseville, Calif., that is a much better fit, and she'll be sharing the experiences at Body, Skin and Nails by Karyn in this space.

Also welcome Candice Everest. Candice started blogging for Blueprint in June 2009, but, due to health, family, and other issues, she was unable to keep her salon, Panache Nail Studio, open. (She'll explain further in her first post.) Instead, she booth-rented for a while, but now Panache Nail Studio and Candace are back for round two — both at the salon and on Blueprint of a First Year.

Wish them luck and much success!

Great to hear! I started reading Candice's blog just last week and wondered what happened to her. Her story is very inspiring to me! Glad to hear she'll be back, can't wait to read her story!

Congrats to you both! Karyn, Im excited to follow your new blogs. I have always heard it's not easy to go from being a student to an owner but this is what I hope to do after going to nail school this summer. Best of luck to you and I hope I can learn from your inspiring journey!
