Give Us A Sign

I’m really excited about our storefront design. TDI — Tankard Design & Imaging is now starting to design and build the signage. Our original idea had been to have 2,000 floating polish bottles in the window in the shape of one large polish bottle, but it’s become apparent that that would be a big pain (In addition to the 2,000 bottles we’d have to dust, we’d have to manually change out the polish colors.) Now our window display is based on color-changing LEDs. Each letter of “ROB|B” — and the line that separates the two Bs —  is on its own glass panel and is backlit. There will also be a window display of an OPI bottle etched in glass.

We also have some cool new design features inside. We’re working with Harmonic Environments to have some waterwalls installed. (Check this out to get an idea for what they’ll look like.) The downstairs will feature three tall glass panels with water running down them; upstairs, there will be one large waterwall.

We’re getting to know our neighbors in Studio City. Last Saturday, salon M.O.M. Nadine and I did promotional mini-manicures at Tryst during a holiday sale the apparel store held for its VIPs. It was great to interact with potential customers, and, since Tryst has a lot of A-Listers on its VIP list, I think it’ll be a great way to build our business and help each other.
