Q & A: Manicure Stations

Is there a wall between every manicure table? If so, how tall are they? This will be interesting because it’s like having a private service. Some clients don’t like to be seen by others but the odors concentrate more in the area.

Ellen Marie

Hi Ellen Marie,

Thanks for your great question. Yes, there will be a floating wall between each manicure table and the next; each wall will be about 5 or 6 feet tall. This will definitely give a sense of privacy, but we’ve chosen walls that don’t completely seal off of the space. They actually have sliding panels that can be moved, so a client can see the person seated next to them if they want to.

Each station has its own ventilation, sucking out any odors. We actually spent a lot of time designing what we think is a very thorough ventilation system. I’m hoping odor won’t be an issue because of the precautions and measures we’re taking.

Regards,

Robbie

This is great! Then odor should not be any problem. I like the idea of keeping it private because many salon have an opened area where techs keep on talking between them, not paying attention to their clients. This idea gives them the attention they need. Sometimes they feel they need to talk privately about certain things and these walls make them feel more confident.
I like it.

Hi! I don't like the idea of the split manicure tables. You say private? Are they sound proff? Everyone is going to hear what the other clients are talking about and if you get a loud talker then what? Thanks for your time.

I love this idea, especially that the client can choose to see the person next to them if they want to! I think it's great since so many people seem to come with a friend, mother, sister, etc. and want to talk, but at the same time the nail techs will be more likely to pay the necessary attention to their clients, as was mentioned in a comment above. Looking forward to learning all about your progress! Best of luck!!!

What kind of venting system are you using? Are they right over each station or throughout the nail salon? Do you have any preference for these systems? thanks rebecca

where are you getting your manicure tables from and does it have a venting system? I like the idea of having a glass wall but it does seem a little like a cell...Do you think the clients will feel comfortable with the layout of the manicure tables?

How is your venting system set up? Do you have vents in the table or a central system with some kind of pick up at each station?
