Hello! How has your last week gone? Did you celebrate someone? What are you celebrating this week? Have you been good about your water intake, changed up your workout, or discovered something new to add to your healthy routine?
My week has seemed pretty crazy in good and bad ways. Luckily the healthy stuff has been the good crazy. lol. My daughter and I ventured into one of the local towns last Sunday to collect groceries for grilling out and restock on a few fresh fruits and veggies. On the door to a store was a poster for a local biggest loser competition. It had begun on Friday, but I jotted the number down just in case. Long story short they let me in and the weigh-ins are every Friday. There is a prize for the weekly winners and if you gain any weight you have to pay $1 per pound you gain that week.
This seemed like as good a reason as any to take a look at where I was and what I was doing. I realized I had come to accept the plateau as just the way it was instead of continuing to battle it. I also noticed I had started to let some things slide: Oh no need to walk more than 10 minutes — not like I’m going to lose weight anyway. What’s the point of measuring the cereal? It’s not helping anyway, etc. Gotta love the mental battle of it all; you can win or lose it in your mind without even getting off the couch!
After some serious looking at my choices and my plateau, it would appear that I have all the tools to get off, I just need to get into using them correctly instead of complacently. Part of that will be doing the awesome workouts from my trainer Jen everyday instead of a couple days a week, walking at least a mile everyday, and back to measuring the food again.
The next part of my celebration for the week, my daughter! She has decided to be my workout buddy and eat healthy with me. This makes it so much more fun and I love having one-on-one time with her while we walk. Luckily she doesn’t need to lose weight, but I am so proud that she has taken an interest in being healthy, which I hope will keep her looking the way she does now!
Do you have a workout buddy? If so, be sure to celebrate them this week, I had no idea what I was missing out on until I had a whole week of a partner in good health!
