Editor’s Note: Sorry guys…I’ve been super busy…here’s Holly’s post from last Friday! — Hannah
I was just checking in on the blog and realized it was Friday! It sure seems like the week just flies by here lately. How are things going for you? Have you made any healthy changes for yourself yet? If not now is as good a time as any to get started!
Are you an emotional eater? If you said no, are you sure? Do you have anything food-related for happy, sad, celebrate, mourn, comfort, etc. My celebration this week is knowing my weakness. I crave food the most with emotion and this week a very dear friend of mine lost his battle to cancer. This made me want to eat a bag of Oreos, double stuff of course, a case of Dr Pepper and a gallon of German chocolate ice cream. Knowing that this would be my weakness gives me the ability to combat it. I did enjoy a can of Dr Pepper that day, as well as a brownie and a piece of cake at the luncheon. None of those were good choices but by allowing myself small indulgences to satisfy the emotional eating kept me from turning into an eating machine. Sure it is not an excuse to make bad choices, but I look at it as a few small bad choices are far easier to work off than lots of overdone bad choices.
Think about your eating triggers and see if there is anything you can do to help yourself when the time comes. I know you can be good at this healthy thing, the greatest things in life are worth working for!
