Good morning Healthy Tech Talkers. I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. Posts have been a little sparse lately so I’m hoping everyone is just too busy to write in on their progress.
As for me, I’m definitely still in a holding pattern. I just haven’t been able to go full force back to how I was living last year at this same time. I’m only sporadically going to yoga, and I’ve fallen back into a routine of grabbing something quickly (too often fast food or frozen pizza) on my way home from the office. I’m not drinking enough water and I’m not going to Weight Watchers. I’m trying to slow myself from this free fall (believe me, it hasn’t been easy).
I guess what I’m really trying to do is own up to where I am right now and then dedicate myself to getting back into the healthy living mode.
Here are three things I vow to start doing ASAP:
1. No more fast food. I really just need to get to the grocery store and stock up on healthy meals and snacks and I’ll be all set. I like eating good, healthy food; I’ve just been lazy about it.
2. Increase my water intake. This is easy. I just need to think about it a little more.
3. Get to yoga 2-3 times a week and run 2-3 times a week. This is the hardest part for me. The yoga is OK, but I really just don’t like running.
I’ll be in Chicago this weekend for the beauty show, so that throws a little wrench in my plans…but I’ll get through it. And then once I get back, I’m setting April and May as my months to really get into a workout routine. I really have no excuses. I live less than a block from the ocean (the above picture is taken from my walk street) and it’s been so lovely out. I’m just lazy. There I said it. Now maybe that I copped to it, I will do something about it.
Hopefully my honesty will help some of you who are feeling the same way get back into a lifestyle of healthy living. (Full disclosure: Last May I was down 30 lbs. I’ve put 20 of those lbs. back on. Why is it so much easier to gain than it is to lose?)
