Hello out there in nail world! I am excited to check in to let you all know that I have not gained an ounce (or lost) through the holidays! Yay!!
I moved my business back to a private room over New Year’s. So my holiday season was extra stressful! I went to work with a friend at her salon in March. She asked me for a year to come over there. She worked across the hall from me for several years. So, I moved a block away. I still had a private room to do nails and toes, but I had to share a hair station up front. I am VERY OCD about my stuff! It was never the way I left it. I had to clean other people’s messes just to take care of my client! My nail room was a constant 83 degrees. Yuck. I worked for 8-10 hours in that. The front was cold and the girls are skinny! Wear a sweater and clean up your station instead of sitting around complaining that you are cold! I am busy! And it is hot!
After a misunderstanding with a few of the others, they decided to ignore my total existence! How mature. So, for the past 3 months I have been miserable. Trying to pretend that I am not affected by them is not easy for me. But, when they were rude to my clients I had to do something about it. I moved. I found that working in that negative atmosphere is not worth my business. The salon’s business has been very slow. Luckily my nail business is great! I did not want that attitude to rub off on to me and my clients! Maybe there is another reason besides the economy that the other girls are slow.
So with all that out, I am re-motivated to take control of my destiny! I am by myself to work on me and my client’s health and beauty! I have my own fridge back and do not have to wonder who ate my lunch and drank all of my bottled water! I am excited to get on track to reach the other half of my goal! I will be fine in 2009! Toodles! (That was my skinny fingers waving bye!)
