Thanking Those Who Support Us

Ever feel like the days get away from you some weeks? I seem to have been oblivious to the coming and going of Friday this week, hence no celebration. Maybe it was meant to be though, because I found my inspiration for celebration on Saturday, which is when I realized I forgot to write Friday! So here it is a bit tardy, but worthy of celebrating none the less.

This week, er last week, it seemed like a good idea to take the time to celebrate the people in our lives who “get it.” You know what I mean, the friends that support instead of sabotage you, the family member that doesn’t nag at you to eat more, the significant other who supports your choices and believes in you. I sat down to an AMAZING lunch with Kristina Baune on Saturday — that she had personally prepared. It was stunning and here’s the best part — healthy. She had taken my healthy choices into account and altered the meal slightly to make it easier for me to be included in everything. I was nearly moved to tears, touched beyond measure, and humbled by her thoughtfulness. The main course was Lemon Pepper Chicken, there were veggie sides, she opted for potatoes non-mashed (read: without cream and butter), and fresh broccoli. There was a stunning dessert with fresh kiwi and low fat extras. I wish I had thought to take a picture, it was worthy of a restaurant in taste and presentation.

This really got me thinking about the little things that friends and family do to support me in this journey, like leaving comments on the blog, choosing the table instead of the booth (before I lost enough to now be comfy in a booth), not making me feel guilty about drinking water at events, the list goes on. We are quick to complain when someone in their best intentions tries to steer us off our path, unaware they are jabbing at our will power or self esteem, but how often do you thank the people that really get the small stuff? So thank you Kristina, for being a gracious hostess, that made me feel “normal.”

Who are you going to celebrate this week? We all have someone, just put some thought into it and I know you can come up with at least one person who has done something the last five months to make this journey a little easier in some way. By the way, thank YOU, for being here and reading, maybe commenting, maybe not, but positive thoughts and vibes travel, and the effort is what counts!!

My friends because I know they are sick to death about hearing about me and what I am doing:)My customers because I have to stop and use the restroom all the time for all the water. All my blogging friends and those who respond because it holds me accountable and I enjoy hearing of everyones success. Thanks most of all to God who has given me and my family good health!
