Winter Celebrations!

Happy Friday all! This week has gone pretty well. I started a 7-day detox program yesterday, figured it was time to stop thinking about doing it someday and just do it. I’m pretty tired today, so hopefully that sluggish feeling is the toxins getting together to leave. We have had our first couple snowfalls of the season this week. The first one brought me to my celebration for the week. I am healthy enough to pull my son around in his sled, for as long as he wants to ride, without getting winded or needing breaks. It was a great feeling and I think my kids are starting to notice how much more fun Healthy Mom is! That is pretty exciting because that’s what I’m in this for — my kids.

How has your week been? Are you still working out? How are your portions looking? Getting enough water everyday?

What can we celebrate with you this week? Any effort toward being healthy is a good one and you should be proud of yourself for trying!

Hi Holly! Great pic, and you look wonderful! I have been reading all the blogs, you're doing a terrific job with all your posts...I enjoy them!

I've been working out every day, 5:20am, and trying to take more time out for me (other than the workouts). Grail Springs really inspired me, I do the am 'mantra' every day, it's the greatest stretch, and "checks me in" first thing every am.

I just got an early Christmas present- a Wii! I am so addicted! I play about 1-2 hrs of tennis every day (I used to play #1 Singles in High School). It's terrific that I can play with my children. (They love the bowling but it's a bit boring for me!)

Good luck with the detox- let us know how it goes, ok? I haven't had the motivation to do it yet, not sure if I could commit.

Oh, one bad note for me- I do not get enough water every day, but I do try and force myself. I have to flavor it with lemons- seems like we're always out of them!

Thank you for inspiring me, this is a great journey we are on, isn't it?

Love,
Melissa

Good to see you having fun with your children. I can't wait for the first snow so we can go sleding. I live where I grew up and there is a huge hill behind my house. All of my friends from child hood now bring their kids over. We have 4 wheelers @ the bottom that bring us back up. :)..the best time ever. Guess what...getting my pictures taken tomorrow night! Love you my friend. Happy Holidays

Thanks for the encouragement guys, I read back through it on the hard days to help with willpower!

Melissa if you have a wii - consider a wii fit, it is so much fun and the whole family can really get into it! Congrats on making that time for yourself, definitely work towards the water goal, you would't believe the difference it makes in everything!

Today is my last day of detox and I can not say I am in a big hurry to do it again, it was pretty hard and miserable! The drastic weight loss concerns me (13 lbs) that I will be seeing it return in the next week or two, but maybe I just had that much build up, will have to wait and see. I had pretty nasty headaches for the last 5 days so I am wondering if something did not agree with me, if I do it again I will try a different program for sure.

lol Jen 4 wheelers do make things more fun year round don't they! looking forward to the pix!

Thanks again to all and BIG HUGS!
