“Things are only worth what you make them worth.”
Moliére
Hi fellow bloggers. I have this great book, “Weight Watcher, Managing Stress, 365 Meditations for Serenity and Stress” and today’s entry says,
“Every now and then it is worthwhile to look at yourself and see how you are doing. Think about the stresses in your life and how you are responding to them. Take some time to contemplate the direction you are heading. When you do this, you are really thinking about the priorities you have in your life, the value you give to certain events.
What people or situations have you been giving your time and energy to lately? These are your priorities, whether you chose them or whether they just evolved. Ask yourself what has value to you; then be sure you’re making time for what is important to you.
A self-assessment is an opportunity to make changes, an opportunity to grow. And equally important, it’s an opportunity to give yourself a pat on the back for the things you are doing right.
Well, work has been at the top of my list of priorities and I am at the bottom. As a result of this choice, I joined Weight Watchers on August 30th, started walking 4 miles every day, lost 3.6 lbs as of September 13th and haven’t weighed/walked since. I allowed everything else to come first and let my old habit of telling myself, “I will start over tomorrow” take over.
So, my opportunity to change/grow has presented itself and I will begin with a pat on my back for not gaining any of the 3.6 lbs I lost, walk 4 miles today, write in my food journal and put myself first.
Great job to everyone on their progress so far and remember no matter what else is going on in your life; your own health should always be a priority.
