Morning Walks

OK, it’s been just over a month since I posted my first blog. Since that time I have moved into a brand new school facility and have begun the new nail program. Most of my time has been consumed with cleanup from the move, writing the program and creating new ideas of teaching the nail program. It’s coming along well and I am looking forward to the next start date for the program.

During this time I have attempted to be healthier in my meals with soups, salads and sandwiches. I have fallen back into the hairstylist/nail professionals’ way of eating, which is whenever there is a break and sometimes not at all. I know this is not the best way but it has had some effect on me. However, a great thing I have changed is that every morning at 5:30 am I wake up with my husband and we go for a two-mile walk. I have not seen a change in my weight but can tell a difference in my shape. My pants are beginning to fit a little looser and my energy level has increased. I sleep better at night and have a better beginning to my day. My husband and I also have at least 30-45 minutes of uninterrupted conversation. The next step for me is to add an exercise program to do in the evenings.

I want to say that it has been encouraging to read all of the other posts and to see how well others are succeeding. It helps to know that others are accomplishing their goals.

Daphnye, uninterupted conversation with your husband and exercise at the same time!! Wow you are a smart one! Don't worry about the numbers as long as you are feeling better they will come in time. Muscle weighs more than fat so when walking a lot and toning those muscles the scale takes a bit to catch up with your progress but your clothes are telling you it is there! So happy for you on the new school, hope the hurricane did not create even more clean up. Habits are hard to break just keep trying and don't give up, know you can do it ;o)

I joined a site called fitness for singles to meet men that were more into it. It is such a lifestyle and that is a lot of time in the day that can be spent together! Good for you! That extra 1/2 of sleep really makes little difference in the long term (I end of laying awake so many hours anyway! Old Age sucks)
