My daughter turned 17 a few weeks ago and we spent the weekend with family at Disneyland. OUCH. My favorite cookie is from there — raspberry swirl, white and dark chocolate chunks — YUMMY. And I love the super salty popcorn too. The birthday dinner was great, and then we had a celebratory cupcake, which was followed in the morning by a greasy breakfast and a birthday morning banana split. UUGGHH… As you can tell I LOVE FOOD.
The birthday celebrations in our family go on all week and here’s what I learned AGAIN — I don’t feel good when I binge eat. Also, after not eating many processed bread products, when you do, it bloats you out and makes you not feel good. At this point it’s not about the weight, it’s about feeling good. I am bloated, cranky, tired and I feel stupid. But it was an emotional reaction to celebration. Next time I will enjoy my family and the event, instead of using the event for enjoying the food. Family lasts longer. Also, remember not to punish yourself if you falter. Just start again the next day. No bad feelings! Congratulations everyone for all the great successes; keep it up!
