Meet Alicia

I’m Alicia and I’ve been a nail professional since 1996. I am also a licensed esthetician and soon to be a licensed hairstylist. I own Body & Soul in Denver, Colo., and I am the very proud mother of a beautiful princess named Sydney. I have just taken on some new and exciting challenges with CND and hope that the next 10 years will be as enjoyable as the first 10 years. Everyday, I try to remember that God has given me so many gifts and talents and that it is up to me what I choose to do with them. Live Happy! Live Full! Live Blessed!

I grew up a skinny girl who never had to exercise or watch her weight. Now as I became older, the signs of my lack of exercise and improper food choices began to take their toll on my appearance. I thank God that I am healthy and take no medication, but I do not want to take it for granted and expect it to be that way always. As I began to write for this blog, the task became extremely difficult, as I had to admit to myself and now to you that I was not doing what I should have been. I have been lazy — too busy, apathetic and sometimes I just didn’t care. So why change now? For ME and Sydney! All of my daughter’s life, I have tried to be the example of what a great woman she can be. Teaching her that she can do anything with God by her side, so why can’t Mommy show her that Mommy can do anything too?! This is the one thing that I have struggled with for years and it is time that I win! I want to lose weight! I want to look good in my clothes! I want to be comfortable with my appearance! I want to show my daughter that Mommy may not always be the superhero. I have struggles but I too can overcome them. So the next time she says to me “Mommy, I want to be just like you,” I won’t hesitate and think of my weight! I can just say “Great!”

Alicia you have been one of my heroes since the first time I walked into one of your classes and in hindsight actually changed the course of my life. I am more proud of you than words can express that you have taken on this challenge and I harbor no doubt that you will succeed as you have put your mind to it. Sydney should aspire to be like you, I know that I most certainly do :o)

ALICIA!!!! NO PHONE CALL ABOUT THIS??? You are SOOOO on my list now GIRL. ;) I am gonna THUMP you.

Ok, no, I'm gonna HUG you. You are amazing, breathtaking, strong, and overall inspiring.
(did I kiss enough hiney there ;)?)

I mean every word, and you know I do ;).

I agree with Holly, you changed MY life, and the way I view our industry, and my own role in it. It only makes sense that you could share a vision of your physical self the same way.

I am pleased to have gotten to know you as a mentor and as a friend over the past year, and know you have the strength to see this challenge through successfully- I can't WAIT to see you as you progress, and we WILL be doing some shopping ;) Your beautiful daughter has every reason to be proud.

Now I best be hearing my phone ring soon...

MUCH LOVE!!!
