Monday Exercise Tip #5

One of the muscle groups that suffers the most from a sedentary lifestyle is the abdominal area. As nail professionals we sit most of our day, never once using these important muscles. I have learned some great exercises in my training course and have been struggling to build them back up. So start slow, feel the burn, and you will stand taller and feel better.

Beginner level:
1. Lie on the floor and place your hands to your sides.
2. Lift your legs about 6 inches off the floor. Relax your neck and concentrate on using your stomach muscles only.
3. Hold for 10 seconds. Do 2 sets of 12.
Don't forget to breathe!

Advanced level:
1. Lift your legs all the way up to a 90% angle with your torso.
2. Lift your butt off the floor and hold for a second.
3. Repeat. Do 2 sets of 12.
Concentrate on using your stomach muscles and don't rock your body to lift up.

This sounds like something I could attempt!! easy enough to do in the hotel room when you are alone...lol

attempt was the right word to use here, this is a lot harder than it sounds!! I am still attempting it though :oP
