Meet Connie

I have been a licensed hair and nail professional for 17 years. I currently have my studio salon, named Cuticles, inside Diane & Co. Salon & Spa in Dallas, Texas. I have been an Education Ambassador for CND since 2006. As far as a healthy lifestyle goes, my body says “metaba-WHAT?”!

I have been married for 13 years and have gained weight consistently every year. I never had a weight problem growing up. I was pretty scrawny. I would like the support of my peers this time around in my healthy journey. I have been a Weight Watchers dropout off and on for years. The people have been good, but they do not work like we do in this industry. We are taught to put our clients first when they are in our salon (hence my eating habits and big bottom). I need to get to a better weight. The doctors say I am very healthy, just overweight. So that is good. I graduated high school a size 3. I don’t expect to get that skinny, just healthier with some guidance and support from fellow nail professionals.

Connie,
You can so totally do this!! If you need to start small and work your way into things to make it easier. Pick a goal a week to accomplish and go for it, then celebrate something every week as well!!! Excited to see the changes as I know they will come along!

Welcome to the blog, Connie! You're right, the customer is of utmost importance! With out your health, however, a million clients don't matter. I'm very proud of you for stepping up and joining the crusade to be healthy. You're right, it's not about being the spry teenagers we were when we graduated from high school - what's important is that we feel great and know that there is a whole community out there dedicated to support and good health. We're right there with you!

Hey Connie You look so pretty in your photo. Know all about putting the client first and look who pays. It's really all about eating all day and thats the hardest part. Having healthy snacks around really helps I have started by having a fruit bowl in my office so if nothing else I have a healthy snack which keeps me out of the candy machine at school. Debra

It was so great to see you at the training. Congratulations on joining the Blog- How fun to be able to see your pretty faces and talk to you. It is true-customers are important but they want you healthy-you can be an inspiration to them. Best advice I have is take only healthy things to work. You have no choice but to eat them when you are hungry-it is the only thing there!

Congrats Connie!! I have been instructed to eat small meals 5-6 times a day!!!! I know it sounds crazy but so far it feels great. Even a peice of low fat string cheese, or a few slices of turkey breast are excellent snacks when to busy to eat.Make it your goal to make time.
Good Luck!
