Meet Holly

Hello! My name is Holly and I am very excited to be here with you! My goal is not to lose a certain number of pounds — although that definitely will be a welcome side benefit — but to become a healthy mom. I want to be the mom who knows how to live an active and healthy lifestyle and shares it with her children by example. I want to be the mom who can do anything she desires with her children and won’t be held back by size or lack of physical fitness.

I struggle against PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), and being healthier will help me avoid becoming diabetic, in addition to controlling some of my symptoms. Here is a shot of me this past week at the CND Advancing the State of the Industry event. It will serve as my “before” picture. It will be interesting to see what the photo of the active and healthy mom that I will become looks like a year from now!! My goal (and as a reward for my family) is after the year to treat them to a trip to Six Flags with a mom who doesn’t get out of breath or need breaks from walking around, a mom who fits on all of the rides with them, and a mom with a renewed attitude toward health. Thank you for joining this journey, and keep your chin (or chins ;o) up, we can do this together for sure!

Welcome Holly! Thank you for sharing your story. I think you failed to mention that you started your journey before we asked you to join us here. Haven't you already lost 30 lbs? I'd be interested to hear how you did that! Congrats. That's a huge feat.

Hannah, I had lost 32 pounds before leaving for California and another 7 while there!! For the last two and a half months I have been watching portions and just trying to make smart decisions about what I eat instead of eating randomly. I also try not to eat later than 8 pm. I have also incorporated exercise into my lifestyle building little by little from a foundation of nothing. I am doing things fairly slow but steady in hopes that it will be a more permanent difference that I can keep up with for life!!

Holly,

I've known you for several years now and am so proud of this new accomplishment. You've always faced challenges head on with a silent strength that is awe inspiring. Thank you for never giving up, but instead fighting and coming back stronger and stronger each time. We should all take a lesson!

Hi Holly. I have to say that I've been craving a trip to 6 flags - We should see if we can get a group together to go next spring! I actually drove by the one in CA last fall and it looks like they've got enough roller coasters to terrify even the bravest heart! LOVE IT!
