Why This Blog?

Welcome to Healthy Tech Talk! As you can see from my post below, I’ve made a personal decision to make a change in my life to become healthier. And I’ve heard from many of you that you’d like to make a similar change. I had dinner with CND’s Jan Arnold in Orlando last month and she commended me for speaking up about my healthier life. What I’m doing is not a diet. It’s a lifestyle change. I have decided to change the way I live. I will eat healthier and I will exercise more. In order to make these changes stick, they need to become part of my routine. They need to be things I enjoy.

We’re always going to have more work, more appointments, more travel…just plain more. But no matter how much we have going on, we have to make time for ourselves. CND has always put a large emphasis on the wellness lifestyle. This year, the company is challenging themselves to live healthier, fitter lives. So we’re starting this blog in conjunction with CND for everyone who wants to join us. I’ll be blogging, and we’ll also have a regular group of nail techs blogging about their experiences. (We’ll introduce your other bloggers starting next week.) We’ll post challenges and solutions. We’ll post exercise tips and recipe ideas. Basically this blog will be a place for all of us in the nail community (nail techs, salon owners, students, manufacturers, distributors, magazine editors) to come to get inspired to lead healthier lives. We’re not perfect and we all need motivation. I hope you’ll join the conversation by posting in the Feedback section when you feel inspired or want to add tips of your own. This is a place for us all to be better individuals within the larger world that is our nail industry.

BEFORE: That's me last summer.

AFTER: That's me a few months ago.

Just for fun, I’m posting a picture of me on a salon visit last year and one more recently — a before and after, if you will. What are your feelings on weight, your health, and your job? Do you have any good inspirational stories? Please share them with other readers. We are a close-knit community and we can can learn from one another.
